Following the early release of the 2013 Michelin Guide, Cambridge's Alimentum has been awarded its first Michelin star.

Alimentum is in the 2011 Good Food Guide '60 Best UK Restaurants' List. Alimentum's rating in The Good Food Guide refers to "Exemplary cooking skills, innovative ideas, impeccable ingredients and an element of excitement. The restaurant has a wine list that our inspector and wine expert have deemed to be exceptional". 

Alimentum was notably the only Cambridge restaurant in the 2011 Guide to receive a commendation for its wine list. Excellent news for those looking to balance their wine choice with their wallet, not just their palate.

The restaurant, rated a Michelin star and 3 AA Rosettes, offers a relaxed dining experience where the dress code is informal and the overall ambience is stylish and friendly. Chef Patron Mark Poynton draws on his extensive Michelin star experience to create dishes brimming with quality and originality, preferring to source products locally whenever possible and to work with seasonal ingredients, so that menus change regularly. Alimentum uses slow cooking techniques to create inspired dishes where flavours are allowed to develop fully during preparation. This involves carefully choosing cuts and other ingredients that lend themselves to this subtle style of cooking.

The a la Carte and 7 course Tasting Menus offer diners a mouthwatering array of seasonal dishes and the Fixed Priced Menu offers superb value with two courses from just £15.50. The Fixed Price Menu is available every day through lunch and dinner up to 7pm - except Monday and Wednesday when the menu is available all night - perfect for early and mid-week treats! Music usually features in the cocktail bar on Friday and Saturday evenings with local artists adding a little piano and voice night music to a relaxed and stylish dining experience.

Alimentum has a Private Dining Room that can cater for up to 30 people. It is the perfect space for private parties or, for business functions requiring confidentiality or a degree of privacy. Bespoke menus can be arranged with Mark, who will discuss individual requirements in more detail.

The room has full WiFi internet access and multi-media facilities can be arranged on a hire basis. Corporate Day packages are available to facilitate breakfast meetings, lunch service and onto dinner.
