Oakington Garden Centre (Cambridge)
Feel the difference at Oakington Garden Centre
Providing a personal service from knowledgeable staff makes Oakington Garden Centre stand out from the crowd. An extensive choice of plants and trees, garden furniture, garden accessories and more are all available at the centre of course but when expert advice is required this is the place to go.
Independently run, the owners and plant manager are horticulturists and designers. Plus the staff are keen gardeners too, so you benefit from friendly, informed advice from enthusiasts every time. What's more the owner is always on site too and he's always willing to lend a hand.
Oakington feels almost like a nursery with spacious, attractively laid out plant areas and a huge greenhouse with centre grown plants for pots and tubs. The general stock is extensive with perennials, shrubs, trees, roses, magnolias, conifers, bamboos, ferns, alpines, herbs and climbing plants.
During the year there is always something new to see as the seasons run their course. Seed potatoes sold loose, starter perennials in spring; bareroot hedging and soft fruit and turf sold by the roll spring in the autumn; Christmas trees, wreaths and decorations to complete the year.
Plants are sourced where possible from local nurseries but the centre also buys from national and international specialists. They are always searching for good quality and price! The garden centre is also happy to try to obtain individual plants for customers - just ask.
Fully stocked with all those necessary garden accessories Oakington Garden Centre is the place to come. The shop holds gardening supplies such as tools, seeds, chemicals, greenhouse and pond equipment and bird food. The nearby canopy area is the site for an array of pots and compost with displays of houseplants, garden furniture, trellises, stoneware, water butts and composters.
For anyone wanting more extensive work on their garden the centre can recommend a Garden Designer as well as approved local people to carry out planting and garden construction to a good standard.
With ample parking, a free delivery service in the area and a welcome for all gardeners from beginner to plantsman or professional, Oakington Garden Centre is the first choice amongst gardeners.
