Eraina Taverna (Cambridge)

Hidden away on the quiet Free School Lane off Benet Street, just up from the tourist office, Eraina Taverna is a Cambridge institution with a devoted following of regulars.
Perhaps it's this 'hidden gem' quality coupled with the warm, unpretentious atmosphere that makes it the favourite of stars visiting the Corn Exchange and Arts Theatres. Even the Prince of Wales was known to frequent Eraina during his undergraduate years in the late sixties.
As for food, the restaurant still boasts an extensive menu with something to appeal to everyone. The emphasis is naturally on Greek cuisine, but there are many international choices like charcoal grilled steaks, pork escalopes, Italian pastas and rice dishes as well as fresh pizzas, Indian dishes and more. You'll have to take your time perusing the menu!
You can also hold a function at the Eraina, making use of the basement room, which has a capacity for up to thirty-five diners. And as always, you'll find the service friendly and the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable, with figures from Greek mythology adorning the walls and cozy seating arrangements ideal for groups of friends. The restaurant is now fully air conditioned, too.
