The Axe and Compass is a 15th century thatched roof pub at the heart of a Hemingford Abbots, a lovely village outside Huntingdon.

Reached in just 20 minutes drive from Cambridge, the beamy, low-ceilinged pub has more than the look of an old pub, including a wood-burning hearth, it has the feel. We take care of our customers, providing good home-cooked food at reasonable prices. The menu is traditional English for the most part, with a few international dishes as well. And for those with special dietary needs, we can provide gluten-free alternatives.The Axe and Compass

The Axe & Compass is now open all day and offers coffee, afternoon teas, homemade cakes and scones.

Renovated in 2005, the pub can accommodate indoor dining groups of up to 40 and receptions for up to 100, and the garden can accommodate up to 150 for events like hogroasts and it has an outside bar. Call to inquire.
