Wood Green’s largest centre is located on the outskirts of Godmanchester in Cambridgeshire, every year we find secure, loving new homes for around 5,500 animals of all varieties including goats, chickens and small animals as well as dogs and cats. Wood Green’s vision is of a world where all pets are well cared for in loving homes for life. We aim to achieve this vision by providing the best possible care for animals in need, promoting good animal welfare, and responsible pet ownership by providing support, guidance and education to members of the public and setting standards of animal welfare in the UK and beyond.

Fun and learning for kids and grown ups

Our Education Team are passionate about teaching the next generation responsible pet ownership in a bid to make the pets of tomorrow happier and healthier. We have various workshops for young adults and many more exciting ‘hands on’ events for you and your families to get involved in. Our Outreach Team also work tirelessly in the community offering advice, support and low-cost veterinary services to people who are struggling to care for their pets.

Our 52 acre site in Godmanchester offers a stunning location for a great day out, not only can you visit all the animals in our care, you can take a walk through our garden of remembrance or stroll round our lake to find the children’s play area which is guaranteed to put a smile on small faces.

A warm welcome awaits you in our coffee shop and restaurant where you can purchase anything from a cold snack to a tasty hot homemade meal. For those of you who love to take a little gift home with you, our Pet Supply and Gift shop has an array of wonderful gifts for any occasion along with everything you could possibly need for your four legged friends, we even have our own range of Wood Green dog and cat food, the range has been specially designed to provide the right balance of nutrition for a healthy pet and is excellent value for money.

Conferences, events & our purpose-built wedding pavillion

Our Godmanchester Centre also has ideal facilities available to hire for conferences, meetings and events, at very competitive rates. We are also very proud of our status as a venue for Civil Marriages and Ceremonies and can boast that we are one of the few venues in Cambridgeshire licensed to host outdoor ceremonies under our purpose built Wedding Pavillion.
