Alongside Ely Cathedral, The Maltings is one of the city’s distinguishing landmarks, dominating the banks of the River Great Ouse. Our experienced wedding co-ordinator will be happy to guide you through and help plan every aspect of your special day. Our attention to detail will ensure that you have a truly memorable day.

The Elysian Hall, with its exposed brick walls and high vaulted ceilings; the Kempen Room, with its views over the river; and the Hereward Room, are licensed for wedding and civil ceremonies. The Maltings has nearby moorings should you wish to arrive by boat and during the summer we can arrange for your reception to take place on the riverside lawn terrace.

Conferences

The Maltings rooms and theatre make it ideal for a wide variety of uses including conferences, meetings, exhibitions, dinner dances, theatre productions, live music, cinema screenings, craft fairs, antique fairs and Christmas parties. With its built in stage, pa system and the option of auditorium seating as well as interconnecting rooms the Elysian Hall offers a truly unique and versatile space for any event. To ensure that the amenities and events held at the Maltings are equally available to all, we offer disabled access throughout the building.

Restaurant

In simple yet stylish surroundings with wooden floors, bench leather seating and a café-style atmosphere, the Maltings Restaurant is informal and welcoming to all, with views across the river.

The seasonally-stocked restaurant is open during the Spring and Summer season (April to September) from mid morning through to 5.00pm offering simple but tasty lunches through to afternoon tea with freshly made home made scones and cakes. Our stylish menu is designed to offer excellent choice and value for all the family, including a children’s menu packed full of nutritionally balanced meals.
