Volunteering with the National Trust 

As we welcome in a new decade, it's a good time to do things differently. Many of us will have made New Year's resolutions and could be looking for a change of direction or to try something new. Volunteering is one suggestion and here we explore one possible example - working for the National Trust.

Volunteers make the National Trust run. There are more than 4,000 in the East of England alone who last year gave a staggering 229,000 hours of their time. The Trust's Cambridgeshire properties are no exception and simple economics says they couldn't keep the houses, gardens and countryside sites open without people who give their time and expertise for free.
