Local Secrets Eating & Drinking Places Awards 2010 RESULTS
A record number of people voted in the region's largest popular vote for the best places to eat and drink in and around Cambridge, with winners awarded for location and type of cuisine.
The ‘Best of the Best' category and ‘Best in Cambridge' went to the fine dining restaurant Alimentum on Hills Road in Cambridge.
Other best ‘regional' winners included The Star in Lidgate ‘East', The Red Lion in Hinxton ‘South', The Old Fire Engine House ‘North' and the Cock in Hemingford Grey ‘West'. Charlie Chan of Regent Street in Cambridge took the award for 'Best East Asian' as well as runners-up spots for 'Best of the Best' and 'Best in Cambridge'
The online voting 1 - 27 June attracted a record 1340 voters, nearly doubling the number who took part in 2008. The survey has been sponsored by Local Secrets, the lively guide to what's on (www.localsecret.com), partner Star Radio 107.9/1, and Velvet Magazine published by Cubiq Design.
