What we thought
After winning the Local Secret award for the best Mediterranean restaurant in 2007 La Margherita on Magdalene Street had a hard act to follow. But with the Cambridge city centre bustling with Italian, meze, tapas bars and fusion restaurants doing a bit of everything, the original Mediterranean eatery is still the place to beat.

Great Italian food and good service
Being half Italian, I am pretty picky about my Italian food. La Margherita is probably the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy - does the classic dishes very well - look out for their lovely Romano-style pizzas and home made gelato.
