Cocktail bar Nusha immediately stands out as the trendiest place to establish itself so far at the newly built Cambridge Leisure Park. The décor is retro minimalist: square tables, stylish sofas, enormous mirrors and restrained lighting. A plasma TV and live DJ playing R and B and Hip Hop are added bonuses.
Since opening, Nusha has clearly established itself as a popular chill-out zone for pre or post bowling
Nusha had undoutedly added an unexpected dimension of chic glamour to our night out
or cinema and even an out-of-city-centre destination in itself. It is the first venture of George Bhangoo, who has successfully implemented a policy of offering 'mixology cocktails to suit individual desires' in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The hand picked bar staff are no doubt there to impress: they shake, flip, and twist all sorts of bottles and extras to make only the finest of cocktails.
The choice on the cocktail menu is equally as impressive: it features a list of 'Teas', all containing the 'famous four spirits' ? Smirnoff Vodka, White Rum, Jose Cuervo Tequila and Cointreau. Milano, Tokyo, New York and Caribbean all give an exciting twist on the original Long Island Iced Tea, with exciting extras such as ginger ale, midori or amaretto liquor.
An extensive range of 'classic' cocktails and shooters is also available. We sampled Mai Tais and Moscow Mules much to our tastebuds' delight. If standard strength is not potent enough, three 'strong cocktails' are also on offer: Adios attitude adjuster, Doctor Pepper and Zombie. Each one contains a suitable number of spirits to qualify its name.
We completed our night out with a round of Purple Haze shooters ? a mixture of blue and red Aftershock. We realised the following morning that the toxicality of this combination should not be underestimated. Despite slight hangovers we felt that Nusha had undoutedly added an unexpected dimension of chic glamour to our night out.
